Interior Design Business Development Manager


ALine Studio is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our growing team. The Manager will develop and implement strategy that will drive ALine’s visibility, new business, and shape the firm’s reputation. The Manager must have a background within the interior design/architectural/construction industry. Our ideal candidate will be experienced in business development/sales, a team player, a self-starter, an excellent communicator, strategic, and a problem solver.

This position is based in Brooklyn and the candidate will be expected to work out of our WeWork office in Dumbo Heights. WeWork is a communal work space filled with startup companies of all industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and lead marketing campaign activities to infiltrate new markets, drive new business efforts, and win new work.
  • Work closely with firm leadership in creating and implementing a strategic business development plan to position the firm with target clients.
  • Develop strategic short- and long-term marketing campaigns to support key business initiatives.
  • Manage all facets of the sales cycle including prospecting, negotiating and closing
  • Meet and/or speak with qualified prospects to learn more about their projects and tell them more about ALine Studio
  • Plan and execute strategy and planning sessions.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for communicating our message in the market, including speaking engagements, conferences, etc.
  • Perform multiple marketing efforts against rapid and frequent deadlines.
  • Monitor and track business development activities
  • Research clients, market trends, and background information associated with business development efforts in collaboration with marketing team and management.
  • Manage, update, and maintain project and client data in firm CRM.
  • Collaborate with principals, senior staff and other marketing team members in the writing, design, and implementation of marketing materials in alignment with brand standards.
  • Tasks may also include coordinating: events, public relations efforts, advertisements, materials for trade shows, content for speaking engagements, direct mail campaigns and award submittals.
  • Perform general marketing activities and/or administrative tasks, as required.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in a marketing/business development position within an interior design/architectural/construction firm.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • Sales experience with a history of overachieving targets in new business acquisition.
  • Existing network of industry contacts and relationships
  • A strategic thinker, with a drive for quality and sales results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge in developing marketing strategies for local and global markets.
  • A strong work ethic and self starter attitude, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Impeccable organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to self-manage project assignments from start to finish with minimal oversight and direction.

Principal Hospitality Interior Designer


ALine Studio is searching for an experienced and talented Principal Interior Designer with a successful track record on Hospitality Interior projects.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experienced in handling all aspects of the design process, while working with hospitality clients simultaneously.
  • Excellent relationship skills with the ability to understand, interpret and execute client needs.

  • Select finishes and materials, reviews shop drawings, create and manage F,F & E schedules and budgets for hospitality projects.
  • Develop multiple design themes and oversee all finish and material selections including fabrics, trims, furniture, lighting, fixtures, tile, plumbing fittings & fixtures and accessories.
  • Provide strong leadership, organization and relationship management skills in all phases of the design process.
  • Coordinate furniture and material selections with outside consultants and vendors.
  • Assist with documentation including construction drawings using AutoCAD and hand drawing.
  • Review furniture and millwork shop drawings. Assist with answering RFIs and submittals during CA phase.
  • Measure and survey site conditions to produce as-built AutoCAD.
  • Identify trends and shifts in the hospitality interior design market.
  • Maintain a high standard of design in the hospitality group and be a guiding design voice in the firm.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in design of hospitality interiors projects.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional design experience, preferably working on hospitality design projects.
  • Ability to put together interior design documentation set including custom furniture drawings.
  • Experience with furniture installation.
  • Provide excellent presentation skills including 2D and 3D rendering.
  • Proficiency in millwork detailing and specifications.
  • High proficiency AutoCAD, Illustrator, InDesign, SketchUp, Photoshop, Microsoft Office Suite and REVIT.
  • Studio Webware experience a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of the design process and resources, including custom furniture, construction, specifications, colors and materials and trends.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must be a US green card holder or US citizen.
  • Must be currently living in the NYC area.
  • Must be highly computer literate with PC skills and the ability to troubleshoot problems.

Intermediate Interior Designer & Project Manager


ALine Studio is a Brooklyn based design firm that specializes in public space redesign in the NYC area. We are searching for a talented Intermediate Interior Designer/Project Manager to join our team and work on multi-family projects.

The ideal candidate would be a creative, self-motivated, and highly organized. We are looking for an intermediate candidate with the experience to step into the role of project manager. Project management is very important in this position. This position is based in Brooklyn and the candidate will be expected to work out of our WeWork office in Dumbo Heights.
