The 3,756-square-foot Gold Lounge in the ARIA Resort and Casino is located right off of the Vegas strip within the urban CityCenter complex. Amanda Thompson and her previous design firm were engaged to redesign the space into a classy and trendy boutique nightclub. Originally the space was used as a waiting/sitting area to have drinks before and after to the Viva Elvis Cirque du Soleil show. However, the space did not gain much popularity and the owners decided it needed a change. The old design was “Elvis” style and much of the space was white and cold. The new design entailed reds and golds to give the lounge a warm feel. Further, all the furnishings and lighting was custom made and the chandeliers were even flown in from Italy. The lounge was designed so that there would be areas for bottle service. And for guests that wanted a more intimate setting, the curtains in certain sections could be closed off to give privacy. One of the most well-known areas in the Gold Lounge is the DJ booth where DJs from around the world perform nightly.
